Frieren Is Coming to Carnegie Hall — and That's Just the Start

Announced August 1: the Frieren Film Concert is going international, with a U.S. debut at New York's Carnegie Hall this October — following the concert's run in Japan this summer. A full orchestra performing Evan Call's score live against footage from the series, in one of the most famous concert halls on Earth. For a show whose soundtrack does this much heavy lifting, it's a perfect match.

A new Prelude this fall

The official prequel novels are continuing, too: Frieren: Beyond Journey's End ~Prelude~ Vol. 2 arrives October 13, with new short stories orbiting fan favorites like Übel and the Great Mage Serie — written by novelist Mei Hachimoku with series creator Kanehito Yamada supervising. Vol. 1 only reached English shelves this March, so the Frieren-between-the-panels universe is growing fast.

And then: Season 3

The bigger picture makes all of this feel like a warm-up. Season 3 — covering the manga's Golden Land arc — was announced minutes after Season 2's finale aired this spring, and lands in October 2027. Between the concerts, the novels, and the wait for the next season, Frieren isn't going anywhere.
